I just want to add my thanks to the mods for starting and maintaining this forum for all these years. As an longtime reader, it was a lot of fun. To all those who participated with their comments, opinions, suggestions and, occasionally, the hate - you guys (and gals) are the "hard core" of cartoon ...

FYI - I think 1001 ARABIAN NIGHTS is being included on the big Mr. Magoo set (which I'm consulting on) coming early next year from SHOUT FACTORY - but you didn't hear that from me.

38 cartoons would be most of the non-Magoo shorts (with the exception of RAGTIME BEAR, which is known to be on the set). It is indeed all the non-Magoo theatrical cartoons plus RAGTIME BEAR. I am involved with this set along with Leonard Maltin... The prints on the set are going to be the best you'...

It is not accessible to researchers at this time... but I can tell you the Terrytoon FRIED CHICKEN does exist. It is at the UCLA Film and Television Archive.

...a similar ad from 1957. It's interesting that Paramount was still releasing Popeye Champions; even though they sold their Popeye cartoon library to AAP, they still owned the theatrical rights (and they own them today again). To clarify, Warner Bros. owns all rights to the Paramount Popeye cartoo...

Great find J.A.! I'm a "nut" for such advertising. It is rare to find these ads today, but was NOT uncommon back then to see newspaper ads for specific cartoons (MGM and Disney did full fledged pressbooks - with newspaper ads - for each and every cartoon short they released in the 1930s). The Popeye...

3. How do the restored-from-reissue-prints copies look? I cannot answer all questions at this time (because sometimes I say something that come back to haunt me... or WHV will get mad at me) However, the "restored-from-reissue-prints" you speak of... you might be referring to the CRI negatives (Col...

I haven't read the entirety of this thread, but I'm posting quickly to diffuse the big error I'm seeing here... For the record: The Volume 1 TOM & JERRY Blu-Ray set is intentionally divided at the first 37 cartoons. PROFESSOR TOM is the last cartoon on Volume 1. MOUSE CLEANING is being restored (fro...

I acquired some large (sold as 11X14, but they may be larger), very glossy Terrytoon photos. Ideas as to what they are? Functioned as lobby cards? I think they're too big for press photos (unless they're newer blow ups of original press photos). Those are odd. I collect stills like these and have a...
