I've managed to dig around the L.A. City Directory for 1938, which has people listed as employed at Harman-Ising Productions. You'll notice some familiar names and some you've probably never seen. The post is at http://tralfaz.blogspot.com/2011/10/harman-ising-studio-staff-1937.html F. Fox Fibber~ ...

Placed *where*, Sog? The Hollywood Reporter ? Daily Variety ? What was the gist of the note? F. Fox http://tralfaz.blogspot.com Fibber~ It was just a very simple note of congratulations on the ongoing success of the Schlesinger studio's "The Exposure Sheet". [And this is from Leon's own collection]...

Ben a long time comin' ;)

Bugs Hardaway's WW1 service is well-known, if not somewhat legendary. He also filled out a draft card for WW2 but didn't serve. I don't know the significance of the dates for this particular type of card, whether they were considered reserves or over-age or what. Somewhat odd, I thought, was he sig...

I meant to mention that we really need to get our best threads to a safe place for reference (and for memories sake!). The "Minority Opinions You have About Animation" thread was probably my best thread ever and there are many more from everyone. I would truly HOPE that this is possible!!! The Turt...

Did McGrew wrote this? He told Barrier in his interview with him that he "wrote a series of poems on all the principles; I think I had twelve or fourteen of them." What were the letter designations of the others units? The "Chase"~ The poem unfortunately was unsigned... Who knows, maybe because of ...

Since John McGrew was mentioned in the "Unit A" poem...

One of the abiding quasi-mystery men of uncredited Schlesinger-Warners cartoon was John McGrew, who was mentioned in the 1940 "Unit A" poem that a certain Turtle;) just recently posted. Soooo I thought I'd give John McGrew's background (or maybe the whole layout...:p), this info comes from 1939 so ...

A 1940 poem about Chuck Jones' "Unit A"

And yes there was indeed a "Unit B"...:) So anyway someone wrote a poem about it back in very early 1940 entitled... ------------"The A's ...
