Taking a hiatus from posting on this forum
To all concerned, I have decided that I need to take some time off from posting on this forum. I will still stop back to read occasionally, but it will be a while until I participate in any discussions again. There are certain things in my life right now that I need to straighten out. I am having a ...

I bought the Road Runner DVD yesterday at my local Wal-Mart. I thought the CGI shorts were the highlight of the disc, which doesn't say much. If only those shorts were the classic length of 7 minutes would they have been better. As for the rest of the DVD, I certainly won't be watching all those sho...

The list compiled by thebiach is the definitive list compiled so far for Region 1 MGM cartoon DVD releases. It is not complete as each cartoon released only lists the best available source. I don't know how up-to-date the list is, but last I knew it did not reflect that "Who Killed Who?" is avaiable...

Dr. Seuss's Holiday on the Loose
At first I thought this was a hoax because I read about this upcoming DVD release on Wikipedia, but since it is listed on Amazon and shows official cover art from Warner Bros. it does appear to be legitimate. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005EXA8R8/ref=s9_simh_gw_p74_d0_g74_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0...

You're still wrong. The press release that Jon posted doesn't say that the four Academy Award-winning cartoons on this set were nominated, nor does it consider them to be nominees. I took another look at the back cover provided on Amazon and I did see where it says that the set has 7 nominees and 4...

Actually, six cartoons were nominated, not seven. I understand where you are coming from. There are 6 that were nominated that did not win the Academy Award. But, in total 13 Tom and Jerry shorts were nominated for the Academy Award, in wich 7 of them were winners. Going by the theory that 13 in to...

Back covers for the Blu-ray and DVD versions have been posted on Amazon... and there are a few errors that WHV needs to correct: 1. On the back covers for both versions, it says that seven Academy Award-nominated cartoons will be included. However, only six cartoons were actually nominated, and onl...

Logic
I have lot's of DVD's and won't be replacing them, they look just fine. Blu-ray is not to DVD what DVD is to VHS, no matter how much the industry wants it to be. It's still an improvement though, and I will be buying blu-ray going forward when given the option, especially for film-based material. T...

Not to spoil anyone's fun here, but (don't read on if you don't give in to conspiracy theories)...what would you say if all the sudden, all the aforementioned gags and lines of dialogue are now removed from future airings of said Looney Tunes (and other cartoon) shorts simply because (remember, this...

The WA has been talking about Avery for some time? Are they too busy with Hanna-Barbera to do it? Bonuses will be in SD. So THERE, trondmm, Steve and that other guy I know I'm not the only Steve on this board, but I personally never posted on here saying that I expected the bonus content to be in HD.
