That's the Merrie Melodies series title that was a knock off of "Silly Symphonies", my question was about the "Looney Tunes" title origin.

The Origin of the the title "Looney Tunes"

Now, with the forum closing down this will be one of my last thread posts. it's the one question I think no Classic cartoon fan has ever dared to answer. what's the origin of the title "Looney Tunes"? Now we all know that the Looney tunes was the first WB cartoon series established in 1929 with Harm...

It may take a while, but I think everyone here should migrate to that forum once the GAC forums close down. Who knows, maybe that would be a fresh new start for future ex-GAC members.

I don't know if you guys noticed this or not, but for those of you who've seen the classic Jack Lemmon movie "Days Of Wine & Roses", there's a scene where his character's wife is watching the Chuck Jones Three Bears cartoon "A Bear For Punishment" on B&W TV. My question is was this the first time th...

Oh, but Cat people was released 5 years prior to Uncle Tom's Bungalow but that makes sense. I thought it was a dirty joke but that's just me.

WB Censorship Article Question

A couple of days ago, I was reading an article published in 1939 by Look Magazine on WB cartoon censorship. the article takes stills from some 30's cartoons. My question is are those stills taken from Actual cut scenes form the cartoons by the Hayes Office or were those just examples? if don't know ...

Tex Avery ALSO did the 1937 version of the cartoon. And what dirty joke are you talking about? The "my soul belongs to Warner Brothers bit"? Also, this cartoon WAS released on The Compleat Tex Avery laserdisc set and is the ONLY time that that cartoon(and Half Pint Pygmy) were legally released on a...

Was This cartoon publicly released on home video? I'd be surprised if it did. but anyways, anyone here should watch this cartoon adaption of Uncle Tom's Cabin and Friz Freleng's 1937 version so he or she could compare and contrast. The Simple Difference is that Avery added his own crazy satirical st...
