Wellllll... Allegedly it was 'The Kings Men' in both "Texas Tom" and "The Two Mouseketeers"...

What about "Baby Puss"? I could be wrong (and I'm going by memory, here), but I think the same group can be heard at the beginning, middle, and end of that cartoon.

Yeah, I noticed that too... I'm wondering if that was simply dictated by the limitations of the layouts?

Speaking of the Harvey Comics version of Casper, I really disliked the re-design they gave him sometime in the late 1990's. I think it may have inspired by his appearance in the live-action movie with Christina Ricci; but those big blue eyes with the (seemingly) dilated pupils were just plain creepy!

Yeah, that's what I thought... thanks for the confirmation!

I don't know why I'm thinking of this at this very moment; but there's a brief quotation from Nicolai's "Merry Wives of Windsor" Overture, during the fight sequence between Mighty Mouse and "Dr. Jekyll's Cat"

I'll have to play my copy again and listen to that part carefully; but I don't think that's actually from the Grieg. Rather, I think it's just an original Stalling bit for pizzicato strings.

I've held off on posting again to this thread because I wanted to wait and see what others here, like Thad, had to say about the release once it came out. I'm disappointed that some shorts like "Mouse Trouble" are in sad shape here. I am glad to hear, however, that "Old Rockin' Chair Tom" is not a c...

Wasn't Noel quoted, at one time, as saying that he really had no desire to fill his father's shoes? I've read Blanc's autobiography many times in the past and found that it contains many "half-truths". I remember being disappointed when it was announced on TV that WB had signed on Jeff Bergman inste...

If I understand correctly, the cartoons that perished in the warehouse fire were the original elements for most everything that had been released through 1950. The warehouse fire reportedly destroyed not just the original elements for many of the cartoons, but also those for many classic MGM feature...

I think this one is just as bad as "Oliver and Company" and "Home on the Range".

I remember the first time I saw the colorized version of this (albeit on an old B&W TV :D), I also thought Lawyer Goodwill was a woman!
