So this was '48? I always thought it was '49 for some reason. But I guess that makes sense because I believe "Hare Do" was the only 1949 cartoon with the opening with the angry Bugs leaning on the WB shield (not counting the ones that were released as blue ribbons). I often wonder what point in 194...

You know, I've been wondering if any members of the WB Studio Orchestra might still be around...Someone who could offer some insight into what it was like to spend all day recording with the likes of Max Steiner and Erich Wolfgang Korngold, and then to let one's hair down doing one of Carl Stalling...

Uh-oh. I hope this doesn't turn out to be a disaster like "What's New Scooby-Doo" did! Both these shows had some similarities (same production company, replacing the voice actors, minimal classic sound effects, unfunny/cliched writing, redesigned characters, etc.) At least the show isn't called "Wh...

I can think of a few tv show reimaginings that have worked (The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse, Super Secret Squirrel, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Harvey Birdman, Sealab 2021), but I'm having trouble coming up with any tv shows "trying to recapture the original spirit of the series" that have done ...

I'm guessing the lobby card was from when the cartoon was reissued. They did reuse old lobby cards for the Blue Ribbons. It's also plausible that it was a mistake (no one gave a monkeys what series was which by the late '40s). About the green rings: it's likely that they were on the better looking ...

Never saw the movie before, and I can safely say now I'm never going to either.

Yet another example of a great cartoon made even better by the reinstatement of the original opening sequence. Interesting to note though, that the lobby card on your blog post says HHM is a Merrie Melody, but the short actually has Looney Tunes rings. Were the green "That's all folks!" rings on you...
