[APRIL FOOLS] Welcome to the The Daffy/Speedy Trading Post

Postby Jon Cooke » Tue Mar 31, 2009 11:04 pm

In honor of one of the most popular topics here on the GAC Forums, I am pleased to welcome you to the all-new Daffy and Speedy Trading Post. Myself and the other mods have heard your pleas for more discussion of that "loco duck" and the fastest mouse in Mexico! We realize now just how much more we should be talking about (and praising!) one of the most famous comedy teams in cartoon history. Feel free to join in! Andale! Andale! :daffy: :speedy:

Call me a party pooper, but I'm getting sick of having this topic poping up at least once every day.

After April Fools Day, can we please try to do a week where we can avoid this topic? I think it can be done.

April Fools? Just an unfortunate coincendence. We picked this month since so many of the finest :speedy: were released in the month of April: "Mexican Cat Dance" (April 20), "Nuts and Volts" (April 15), "Assault and Peppered" (April 24), "A-Haunting We Will Go" (April 16), and "The Quacker Tracker" (April 29). Not to mention Daffy's first cartoon was released on April 17, 1937.

After all, we figured that since it seems to be the most popular topic around here these days, why fight it? Give the people what they want, I say!:daffy: :speedy:

Oh, but I think the mods are planning to keep the board this way. I actually like the Daffy/Speedy cartoons, but was a little ashamed to admit it. Now, I can freely and honestly express my opinions on the series without being heckled.

I like it! Daffy and Speedy are the bomb. WAY better than the boring Looney Tunes that came in the 30s, 40s, and the 50s. Why didn't they think of this sooner?

Finally, I have a website worth browsing while wearing my Daffy-Speedy pajamas.

P.S.: The Astro-Duck: Most. Underrated cartoon. EVER.
