LT&MM Website Updates (12/20/09)

Postby Pietro » Sun Dec 20, 2009 7:41 pm

The Ultimate Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies Website is now updated! I've been really busy lately but I found some time to assist Jon with this latest update, so I hope everyone will enjoy it!

For starters, the DVD and Video Guide has been tweaked to include information on volume 6 of the Looney Tunes Golden Collection (finally!).

The big changes, however, can be found on the Censored Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies Guide. This update was, needless to say, long overdue. Here's a breakdown of the latest:

-- Restored prints of Warner Bros. cartoons used for old screen shots (where possible) and new images.

-- New entry with image: "Any Bonds Today?"
-- New images: "Ain't She Tweet", "The Awful Orphan"
-- Updated entry: "Ali Baba Bound"

-- New images: "The Booze Hangs High", "Buddy's Show Boat"
-- Updated entries: "Barbary Coast Bunny", "Bedevilled Rabbit", "Bosko's Picture Show"
-- Entry removed, proven to be false: "The Blow Out"

-- New entry with images: "Censored" (Snafu)
-- Updated entries: "Chaser on the Rocks", "The Chow Hound", "Crowing Pains"

-- Updated entries: "Daffy's Inn Trouble", "Don't Give Up the Sheep"
-- New images: "The Daffy Doc", "The Ducktators", "The Ducksters"

-- New entry: "Goldimouse and the Three Cats"
-- Updated entry with new images: "Gold Diggers of '49"

-- New entries: "Hare Remover", "The Home Front" (Snafu), "Home Tweet Home"
-- New image: "The Hole Idea"
-- Updated entries with new images: "Hare Ribbin'", "Hare-Um Scare-Um"
-- Updated entries: "Have You Got Any Castles?", "The Heckling Hare", "Here Today, Gone Tamale", "High-Diving Hare"
-- Entry removed, proven to be false: "The Hardship of Miles Standish"

-- Updated entry with new images: "I've Got to Sing a Torch Song"

-- Updated entry with new images: "Kitty Kornered"

-- Updated entry: "Mouse Warming"

-- New images: "Pilgrim Porky", "Porky at the Crocadero", "Porky's Romance"
-- Updated entries: "Porky the Fireman", "Porky the Wrestler", "Porky's Railroad"

-- New entry: "Red Riding Hoodwinked"

-- New entry: "Scrambled Aches"
-- New images "Skyscraper Caper", "The Stupor Salesman"
-- Updated entry: "Snow Biz Bugs"

-- New entry: "Tweet and Lovely"
-- New images: "Thugs With Dirty Mugs", "Tortoise Wins By a Hare"

-- New entry: "The Unexpected Pest"
-- New images: "The Unmentionables", "The Village Smithy", "Wholly Smoke", "You Were Never Duckier", "Zipping Along"
-- Updated entry: "A Wild Hare"

There might be more to come, so, as always, stay "tooned!"

Now THIS came out of nowhere.

Well, I got lots of reading to do then. Just like the good ol' days!

Charles took the words out of my mouth. (I'm dead serious!)

If you're putting in the 'edited before release or in Blue Ribbon' entries, shouldn't You're An Education be in there? The edits are fairly obvious, and there was that Tashlin book that said that the estate of Hugh Herbert objected. Wasn't it supposed to be something about him marrying a cannibal girl or something? Or am I misremembering?

Did Nickelodeon ever edit the ending to "Dime to Retire" or did I misremember that?

"I must defend the remarkable prescience of the Hanna-Barbera writers. In the early 1960s, they dreamed up a futuristic world that seemed impossibly beyond our reach. Their creativity predicted the microwave oven, slide walks, smart phones and robot teachers. All these inventions are now routine realities of the 21st century." - Janet Waldo (LA Times, 2011)
