When a main character actually ages. That would be the perfect end.

Personally, I wouldn't mind another movie to wrap things up. Sure we already got one, and it was brilliant, and I think if they did a movie as a final hoorah, I'd be satisfied.

Having a character die or leave would make the ending seem bitter sweet or end on a low note, but would add a small sense of closure (Provided it's an important character, not just a one trick pony character)

Whatever that doesn't affect the storyline in a way that the series can't go on as normal without creating a serious plot hole.

I'd love to have Mike Scully back as showrunner, at least for a last season.

But to be honest, I wouldn't have the series end at all...
