Synopsis: The Mayflower journey with Captain Porky Pig at the helm is the subject of this spot gag cartoon, narrated the same way a newsreel or travelogue would be. Battling some very anthropomorphic elements, as well as flying fish and leaping seals, our heroes finally make it to America and make a treaty with Sitting Bull. In the end, a cook trying to catch a really big fish is successful - almost TOO successful.

Trivia:
The Rains Came is indeed a 1939 film, based on the 1937 novel by Louis Bromfield. It was released by 20th Century Fox, though one of its stars, George Brent, was 'on loan' from Warner Brothers for the picture.
The scenes featuring the black cook have been excised from modern TV prints.
