Foghorn and Tweety Super Stars DVDs coming 11/30...official announcement!

Postby Greg Method » Thu Aug 26, 2010 5:10 pm

Just officially announced: the next two "Super Stars" releases, due November 30.

The content list is according to WHV Direct as they presented it (which, as we know from last time, might change).

"Foghorn Leghorn & Friends: Barnyard Bigmouth"
1. All Fowled Up (Foghorn)
2. Fox Terrier (Foghorn
3. A Broken Leghorn (Foghorn)
4. Crockett Doodle Doo (Foghorn)
5. Weasel While You Work (Foghorn)
6. Weasel Stop (Foghorn
7. Little Boy Boo (Foghorn)
8. Banty Raids (Foghorn)
9. Strangled Eggs (Foghorn)
10. Gopher Broke (Goofy Gophers)
11. A Mutt In A Rut (Elmer Fudd)
12. Mouse-Placed Kitten (Misc)
13. Chese It The Cat (The Honey Mousers)
14. Two Crows From Tacos (Two Crows)
15. Crow’s Feet (Elmer Fudd)

"Tweety & Sylvester: Feline Fwenzy"
• TWEETY PIE
• BAD OL’ PUTTY TAT
• ALL A-BIRRRRD
• CANARY ROW
• PUDDY TAT TWOUBLE
• ROOM AND BIRD
• TWEETY’S S.O.S.
• TWEET TWEET TWEETY
• GIFT WRAPPED
• AIN’T SHE TWEET
• SNOW BUSINESS
• SATAN’S WAITIN
• THE LAST HUNGRY CAT
• BIRDS ANONYMOUS
• TWEETY AND THE BEANSTALK

Nothing on the ad sheet about aspect ratios, but Foggy has the "adult collector" disclaimer. There is also a promo blurb on the announcement saying, "Ideal for fans, collectors and impulse purchasers." Yeah, provided you only collect 5/6 of each cartoon.

Well, I'm still going to buy the Foghorn Leghorn disc (or ask for it for Christmas) but I'm staying away from the double-dipped Sylvester and Tweety disc, like I've said before. :foggy: The contents are a bit lackluster as they were on the Bugs and Daffy discs but it's still getting new cartoons on DVD and I won't fight them putting these out.

If Tweetie Pie has it's original titles restored (and it probably won't since Daffy Dilly wasn't restored), I might pick up the Tweety/Sylvester one. I forgot, has "Room & Bird" ever been released yet?

They could have just snapped on some Sylvester/Speedy or Sylvester Jr. shorts on that release and it wouldn't have been an issue. But then, like Greg pointed out, these could change anytime.

Their creativity predicted the microwave oven, slide walks, smart phones and robot teachers. All these inventions are now routine realities of the 21st century." - Janet Waldo (LA Times, 2011)

A Broken Leghorn (Foghorn)
This was on the first Golden Collection. What gives?

Like I said, unless Warner does something excellent with cartoons in the Warner Archive (and that means restored box sets), I've more or less washed my hands with them.

There were two Forghorn cartoons on the first Golden Collection. A Broken Leghorn was the other.

I stand corrected. It's been a while, the contents of Vol. 1 aren't as solid in my mind as they used to be.
