Oh...of course, Maltin is very good historian, but I don't like that he was the only "host" at this upcoming set(remember his monopolization of Walt Disney's Treasures" sets?)

Considering these exclusive TCM Vault collections have very minimal extras, this is actually quite impressive.

Included in this set are the Academy Award-winning cartoon Rooty Tooty Toot (1952) and the Oscar-nominated Madeline (1952) and Christopher Crumpet (1953)

Uh, I thought "Rooty Toot Toot" DIDN'T win an Academy Award, but it was nominated. (The 1980 edition of "Of Mice and Magic" does erroneously show it winning the Oscar.)

38 cartoons would be most of the non-Magoo shorts (with the exception of RAGTIME BEAR, which is known to be on the set).

I've been curious to see some of the lesser-known one-shot UPAs for years. This is good news!

Who knew that TCM, of all companies would do something to preserve those classic cartoons we all know and love as they do with the classic Live Action Features, considering that TCM doesn't shed any light on Classic cartoons anymore (which is by all means unfair), now it's just all Classic Movies.

It is indeed all the non-Magoo theatrical cartoons plus RAGTIME BEAR. I am involved with this set along with Leonard Maltin... The prints on the set are going to be the best you've ever seen - better than the versions on TOTALLY TOONED IN... I can not answer any more questions about it at this time, but you are in for a treat!

I rememmber hearing about the release of this set abpout 2-3 years ago.
At last it'll be out.
It originally had to include all the UPA shorts but this idea is good too.
Now I hope we'll also see a set that will include all the Mr.Magoo shorts.

I just hope that the Warner Archive will start releasing classic cartoons that have not great appeal with the majority of the audience but would be greatly appreciated by collectors (Happy Harmonies, Barney Bear, one-shot MGM shorts, b/w Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies...)

26 Jolly Frolics (not starring any of the above)

So, according to Jerry's post - we'll get everything outside of the Magoos plus "Ragtime Bear"

I thought the UPA shorts had already been restored for Totally Tooned In. What little we've seen from those restorations seemed more than adequate for DVD.
